Charlotte Foreman

Charlotte previously worked for a Big 4 firm in Assurance. She decided to move to Lloyd Dowson in order to further the variety in her day to day work. Charlotte also wanted to work with the types of clients that she had previously enjoyed working with – local owner-managed businesses. Whilst she continues to perform audits, she has also got involved with preparing year-end accounts, tax computations, VAT returns and business plans which has been possible through the support that Lloyd Dowson has given her. 

I started my career in tax in the personal tax department at one of the ‘big four’ where I trained, became part qualified and steadily progressed for 10 years. During this time I became disillusioned with the lack of client exposure, mundane work and lack of responsibility. I then made a move to another firm. 

I was only there for one year as yet again the lack of opportunity was very similar to what I had encountered previously so it was an easy decision to make the move to Lloyd Dowson when the opportunity presented itself.

From the first day of my career at Lloyd Dowson things could not have been more different. It was made clear to me from the start that I would be dealing with all aspects of tax, with the freedom to learn, develop my knowledge and skills and to implement my ideas with the full support and encouragement of the Board of Directors at Lloyd Dowson and my Head of Tax.

The exposure to the variety of work at Lloyd Dowson was undoubtedly a huge factor in me passing my Chartered Tax Advisor exams and becoming fully qualified.

Through hard work and support from the Board of Directors, I am now the Head of Tax at Lloyd Dowson and look after and help train a team of 11 tax professionals. I am responsible for all aspects of tax compliance and our advisory services. There are different challenges that present themselves on a daily basis which I enjoy.
